Dear Comfort Baskets,

Just FYI ... I sent my first Comfort baskets about 3 years ago (wanted to send something lasting and useful). Was looking on the net and found Dr. Black's site. Unfortunately, have had the reason to send 2-3 more Comfort Baskets since then. Every time I have double-checked to see what else is out there to send.Consistently, Dr. Black's baskets are by far the best. One of those people happens to be my sister, Patti.Although it took her a little while to really start using the basket, she said it had been one of the most influential pieces in her recovery and her getting on with life. So, thanks, Dr. Black and all of you who work there with her.You guys are the best.

To Dr. Anne Black,

I was sent the Deluxe Comfort Baskets from a friend of mine after the sudden death of my sister and her family of four in an unexpected car accident. When I received the basket I knew that someone who has felt my sorrow must have put this together, because I have used every single item in the basket. It has been three months and today I discovered the letters to my loved ones. This will be another healing memorial that I will complete over the next few days.

I received a Comfort Basket from a special friend when my 22-year-old Yellow Nape Amazon, "Captain," passed away. She was so dear to me, perhaps my best friend, and we experienced some incredible times together. She brought more joy and happiness to my life than I ever imagined an animal could bring. The bond we shared was intense and so special. I always knew that one day I would have to deal with her passing, however, I didn't expect it would be so soon, or in the manner in which it happened. The death of "Captain" was almost unbearable. Your idea and creation of the Comfort Basket is an amazing and beautiful gift. My basket contained so many ideas and creative processes to work through my emotions, even a beautiful pen and expression cards to tell her everything in my heart. My favorite and most helpful gift in the basket was a workbook titled: The Grieving Tree: When a Beloved Pet Dies. When grieving, we tend to focus on the loss, the pain and sadness. The book went beyond those and helped to remember the first memories, the happy memories, and the bond shared between myself and Captain. I always look back to this booklet if I am feeling down, or if I just want to be "near" Captain again. I cannot express how consoling this book was to me. Thank you so much for your help and the wonderful basket you made. It was the most important and useful gift I received after Captain's death.
